Strange when speech renders not thoughts,
Stranger that she shouts in the midst of a crowd,
And no one hears.
Emptiness like the space in a vacuum,
Estranged in the silence of raging thoughts,
And she smiles happily.
Curious beads peek from watering eyes,
Red as the dusk that a setting brings forth,
And there’s silence!
Years in song and played on the stage,
She’s still a stranger to the world, and under starry skies –
Tears move out in the calm.
