Silence

Strange when speech renders not thoughts,
Stranger that she shouts in the midst of a crowd,
And no one hears.

Emptiness like the space in a vacuum,
Estranged in the silence of raging thoughts,
And she smiles happily.

Curious beads peek from watering eyes,
Red as the dusk that a setting brings forth,
And there’s silence!

Years in song and played on the stage,
She’s still a stranger to the world, and under starry skies –
Tears move out in the calm.

Lonely Fears

A tale of mystery wrapped in paperback,
a sheaf of papers no one dares to read.
The tray of ends, volumes unto the rack;
smoke lingers and the Planet pays no heed.

Water has halved in the bottle and ash
flies off in strange waves from the table top.
They were all stable till I blew a gush –
in disconcert they settle when they drop!

Faint melodies stir in the distance and
I stir not from this rest of mine in Fear;
fear that rose not from the unheard of hand,
but the meaninglessness of being near
to solitariness than company
has me cloaked in this Lonely heresy!

Nabaratri

The oil burns the flame.
Time seeds hopes,
And regrets die away;
And the calm of the river
washes the flame from shore.
The Mind is a Wonder
for it ceases to die out.
And so it lives and floats along

Hopes on a river of silt!

Evolution

Slow as the soft cadence of candlelight,
Lovely as an elated hug can be,
And with the same soft grace bring forth and bright;
Take me down the path to Eternity!
I hate Memories ‘minding me of past –
Past is all that I can’t let leave behind.
The ridicule of having myself last –
Is all in grace that will help me to find
Solitariness cloak’d in dejection,
Where the gentle Mind can drift on along
The path that helps my timely abrasion!
What be the cause; where the Soul may belong,
I leave to people of a higher race

As the candle burns harsh on sordid Face!

To Company

To make shelter for the Tramp in a Storm –
A wayside Inn ‘neath safety of the Oak,
And have bequeath a shade that’s safe and warm –
For the Lonely Heart to share at the stroke
Of midnight; candles lighting up the gloom.
Now in starlight skies Darkness wraps its cape,
Misty twilight has long since met its doom;
Solitude takes leave in rhapsody drape!

The Wine seeps in and senses soon depart,
And Damp is swept away in hasty fire;
The Stranger is awake and by my heart,
I wonder what he feels out of the mire.
And should he leave when light in morn unfolds –

My inn in Desert; stays without a Soul!

Intoxication

Wine and objects of intoxication
Garner in the habits of humankind;
A strange sense of dark collective Passion –
To everything that’s registered in mind.
What hurt me in the ravages of Days
Come screaming back into the present sway;
The numbness of the heart in spirit, waves
In the once - bygone, and now - helpless Ways!

Reason belongs to every action done
And spirits bring my happiness in wane;
Since I enjoy what I do under the Sun
I conclude that I’m happy in my Pain!
Contradiction is my specialty now,
I long to get back my Senses somehow!

Symbiosis

On a voyage where the mast greets yon horizon,
And the waves splash ‘cross the lazy hull
Where the blue of the sea and the azure sky
Contend to enliven the delightful lull
On this cruise of delight through cheerful splash
Let my soul rejoice in this Utopian bliss!

There is an oar that once rowed on sweat pronounc’d
This lies by removed of its ungainly flounce
For a balmy breeze – now guides my mast though
More stormy waters might lie unannounced
On our way – the course for my Boat and the Man
Weathered and afloat in symbiosis!

The Man helps the Boat steer and the Boat steers the Man –
A course set in relentless motion since the Sun began,
And stars set their guidance for nighttime fleet!
So aloft rose these eyes to the twinkling skies
To seek direction from those sparkling eyes;

And so do we drift through diverse life –
My Boat and the Man!

Changing Ways

Thoughts that have lofted heads over misty days;
Estranged from company – sought a loving heart
Where I could place my trust and all my care,
And seek solace from the epitaph’s stare!
So in all that was offered in delusions profound –
Ruled the day and tore the nights apart!

Ways that I sought for – seemed a distant dream;
Yet I knew not what I was seeking for in life.
Hollowness seized my forehead everyday –
Incomplete in all that I felt along the way!
And in the trudge of burden all uphill,
Found my crown in the kingdom of lonely strife!

And now, days are beautiful and so is the sun;
The moon and the stars are epitomes of love;
And the epitaph is merely a stone of moss –
For I’ve found the path from unwelcome grass
To beds of sweet whiffs and softer days;
Completeness changes ways to trusting bliss!

Life

INTRODUCTION: Life is the evolution of a gradual process starting from birth to death. But the beauty of all that lasts is in the final salute. This is an attempt to emphasise the frailty of human life and the apparent grandeur of it all.

When death beckons life,
Feelings, emotions-enchant no more,
Slowly but surely obliterated;
He reeks in abstraction.
All those sweet memories –
The pale blue sky, merged in the horizon,
The craggy tops, green chests aloft,
His mistresses’ chuckle, mesmerizing
– blasted into oblivion!
Don the strange façade of the period,
Run wild the carefree heart.
The mortal fences torn apart,
The earthly shackles broken apart;
Far beyond the reach of ails,
High above mortal pain,
The woeful mask now happy and blithe,
Free from fear of death again!
Turns in the act, in charity absolute –
To the crawling worms in his grave!

The remains left soon decay away,
And as time rolls, memoirs fade away;
Nonexistent, as if he never were!

Duality

Gold plating on a Brass Ring reminds me
Of variances in moral fiber
That speaks such words which never let me be
Aware of the person I am after
Duality in Personality!
All is fine with life till the Gold wears off
In sections with stark credibility,
For then the Brass shows off its ugly staff –
And the once proud Nugget glistens in glee,
Till careful angles show the Base within;
Betrayal by the self that lovers see!
When lies the scar that fortune may begin
The abrasion of a shiny Precious Band
Inspiring awe till common dullness stands!
